Munich, May 19th, 2010. Readers of the leading German publication PS  (Das Sport-Motorradmagazin) voted the BMW S1000RR the Best Sports Motorcycle of 2010. In addition, BMW Motorrad was recognized by readers as the Best Motorcycle Brand.

“I’m glad to hear of the victory of our new S1000RR in this vote focused on sporty motorcycles,” said Hendrik von Kuenheim, head of BMW Motorrad, commenting on the result of the vote. “I would like to thank the readers of PS most sincerely for their votes. This reflects the enormous enthusiasm for our products”.

BMW Motorrad was represented by the S1000 RR for the first time in the category of Best Sport Motorcycle over 700 cc with its new four-cylinder supersports bike, thereby underscoring BMW’s technical innovations combining high performance with Race ABS and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC).

As well as being awarded the title of Best Sports Motorcycle, BMW also won the Best Sporty All ‘Rounder with its K1300 S. More BMW top ten finishes were achieved by the R1200 GS Adventure, the F800 GS, the K1300 R and the HP2 Sport.

BMW’s S1000RR had earlier been voted Motorcycle of the Year 2010 in March by readers of the magazine MOTORRAD.
