I got My Buell in May07 24 hrs and 50 miles + or - the trans wouldnt shift took it back to Barnett HD in Las CrucesNM were it was purchased It was 2wks out before they could get me in to service I asked to see a service manual and determined it was a dented spring and ordered the parts and a service manual I made the repair myself the primary cover gasket and spring cost about $25.00 the service manual $100.00 If I didnt do the repairs myself it would’ve taken 3wks to get my bike back 2wks to get it in 1wk for parts HD dealers don''''t keep Buell parts on hand and do not like working on them After that I had no trouble and had grown to like the handling 55 mpg and blasting down fire roads the power was better then expected and fun to wheely. then 13,972 miles hit I was on I 10 Las Cruces NM 80 mph and the rear wheel bearing went out Called Barnett''''s 2wks to get the bike in and no parts Having moved to Apache JunctionAz 350 miles away I had to rent a truck to get home I pulled the bike apart and found the wheel, drive belt, wheelbearings, axle and wheelbearing spacer were all damaged more then I was going to pay for so I called Hacienda HD ScotsdaleAz. Brought it in I gathered up my bike and parts droped it off 2wks latter the bike was done $900.00 in work and parts On Charge the 2 year unlimited miles warranty really works and this is after I pulled everything apart giving them a good reason to void the warranty No Charge That was great it would have been better if the wheelbearing never went out to begin with But I was so happy untill 2 miles from my house a pickup truck turn in front of me and the Ulysses is no more 1 year 14,006 miles. A good dealer that will treat you well after the sale this is hard most HD dealers are into the chrome and leather crowd and Buell owners are 2nd or 3rd class riders I shouldn''''t have needed to work on my bike at all But found it very easy to repair and service so if you are a hands on guy this can be a plus. |

6.8 | | Nice, but too hot TAB, Posted On: 10/19/2008
The Ulysses is a nice ride. In town it is great for the short trips. But on the long hauls the fan constantly blows hot air on your right leg. It burns and makes an uncomfortable ride. You can adjust yourself to try to get away from the heat, but why should you have to bother with that. The fan is loud and you eventually get tired of hearing it every time you stop at a light.
If Buelle would deal with just these two issues, I believe the Ulysses could be the top Adventure bike out there. With the heat blowing on the leg and the loud fan, it detracts from the bike and makes it worthless.
Sorry Buelle. I want you to make me want to buy another Ulysses. Fix these problems and I will. |

You won't believe how powerful this torquey engine is and the handling for a tall bike. I test rode this bike and shifting into second gear brought the front up easily. The bike wasn't straining; it handled my weight well and I weigh 280+ lbs! I think the Ulysses is Buell's best bike. |

9.6 | | 2008 Buell Ulysses Posted On: 11/27/2007
2008 Ulysses: High quality, more comforttable than expected. 350 mile ride in 5.5hrs with no leg or back pain. Seat is the best stock seat I've experiences. Great "real" power were and when I need it. Suspension is awesome. Handles great in the twisties if your a technical rider. No mechanical problems except for the front fender bolt vibrating loose (Locktite cured it). The most fun bike I've ridden. It feels like I'm riding a sophisticated, more powerful, more durable Norton Commando (owned for 15 years). |

9.2 | | Love our Ulys Posted On: 10/4/2007
I own a 2007 Uly and my wife likes it so much she just bought a 2008 for herself. The Uly looks like a dual-purpose bike but needs a larger front wheel and a longer wheelbase for serious off-roading. It'll outperform almost anything on any type of road though. Gas milage has been in the mid 40's but I ride it prettty hard. Build Quality is good but I've needed a few things fixed under warranty. It's great for tall folks and the seating is more roomy and comforttable than many touring bikes. The Uly's a great value but it doesn't hold it quite as well as the chromed Harleys do. Overall, it's the been the best bike I've ever owned...and I've had some great ones. |
